Last Challenges for the weekend

I have had a wonderful weekend making cards and relaxing. This card combined two challenges Mojo Monday and Just Add Ink.

Mojo Monday challenge 382 was a Tall and Skinny card sketch:
Just Add Ink challenge 248 gave us 4 colours to use this week:

I turned the sketch sideways and layered different embossed pieces of card. The stamp is "Perfect Peacock" from the 2014-15 Stampin Up Annual catalogue.

Paper Crafts Crew Card Sketch Challenge 129

Another Challenge for this weekend. The Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch for this week was:

This card made me think instantly of the Stampin' Up "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set for the splatter on the background. I also used "Petal Potpourri" from the new 2015 Occasions Catalogue and "Petite Petals" from the 2014-15 Annual Stampin' Up catalogue.

Check out the challenge here.

Always Playing with Paper Challenge 23

I had a wonderful night being inspired by some of the amazing challenges out there at the moment. They definitely help when I am struggling for ideas. This challenge was another double challenge from Always Playing with Paper, you should check out the designers interpretation of this challenge.

The colours I chose for the challenge were: Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight.

For this card I used the new "Petal Potpourri" stamp set and Flower Medallion Punch from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue. The greeting was from "Memorable Moments" from the 2014-15 Annual Stampin' Up catalogue.

CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge 109

This week's challenge from CAS Colours and Sketches is a double challenge. There was both a sketch and a colour combination to use on the card.

Here is my interpretation of these elements:
This card uses the "Perfect Blend" and "Work of Art" stamp sets from the 2014-15 Annual Stampin' Up catalogue.

Check out the designers interpretation here.

More Challenges

Today I have combined two challenges together for this card: Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and Cards In Envy.

This card used the "Boys Will Be Boys" stamp set from the 2014-15 Annual Stampin' Up catalogue, "Moonlight" Designer Series Paper Stack and Basic Grey Card. The greeting is from the "Crazy about You" stamp set available in the 2015 Occasions Catalogue.

Check out both the challenge pages, the designers have some wonderful cards to help inspire you with these themes.

More Butterfly Basics

When I first saw the Stampin' Up 2015 Occasions catalogue, this bundle caught my eye immediately and was number one on my purchases list. I love the versatility of this set.

Here is another card made from this set.

This card has a base of Crumb Cake and the  background is the honeycomb stamp from Butterfly Basics stamped randomly in Crumb Cake ink.
The flower was inked by colouring the stamp with Tangelo Twist and Mossy Meadow, the image was masked and the fern was stamped off on scrap paper first before stamping on the card.
The border was stamped direct onto the card using Tangelo Twist ink.
The Butterflies were cut out of Tangelo Twist card and Vellum, using the Butterflies thinlits, the two shapes were layered on top of each other and held together by a brad. Tie some Linen thread around the brad and let it hang from the bottom of the card.

My first challenge card for the year.

I always find challenges as a great way to improve my creativity when I am lacking inspiration. I came across this challenge site - The Male Room. I do struggle with making male cards and the design team have some wonderful creative designs to inspire my creativity.

Grab our button for your blog
Their current challenge is "Shades of Blue". My male stamp collection is very limited, but the Stampin' Up "Celebrate Today" stamp set called to me for this card, with it's matching Balloon framelit dies.
I have also use the "Lucky Stars" Textured Embossing Folder on Whisper White card that has been sponged with a mix of Soft Sky and Night of Navy ink and stamped with the small splatter stamp from the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set in Silver Encore ink.

The card is framed with Silver and Night of Navy 1/8" ribbon.
